The 30Days-30Stories Flash Fiction Challenge is a free, month-long creative writing program where you’ll receive a daily writing prompt (text or image) to inspire a 100-word story. By the end, you’ll have written 30 flash fiction pieces—and even have the option to publish your short stories!
2. Who can join this writing program?
This story writing challenge is open to all—whether you’re new to writing or a seasoned storyteller. All you need is a love for storytelling and a desire to create small, approachable stories in a supportive writing community.
3. How does the 30-day writing challenge work?
Every day, a new writing prompt will be shared in our WhatsApp or LinkedIn group. You’ll write a 100-word story based on the prompt and share it with the group if you like. This daily writing challenge is designed to fit into busy schedules, helping you build a writing habit and creativity without pressure.
4. Is there a deadline for submitting each story?
There’s no strict deadline. The goal of the 30-day writing challenge is to encourage creativity and consistency. Write whenever you’re able to; participating regularly will keep you connected with the writing community and motivated.
5. Do I need to share my stories publicly?
Sharing is encouraged but not mandatory! Sharing your daily stories in the group is a fantastic way to get feedback and inspire others, but if you prefer to keep your stories private, that’s perfectly fine too.
6. Will I receive feedback on my short stories?
Yes! We have optional feedback days, so you’ll have the chance to exchange constructive comments on each other’s flash fiction stories. Our writing community is focused on support, growth, and creativity.
7. Can I publish my flash fiction stories?
Absolutely! At the end of the 30Days-30Stories challenge, you’ll have the chance to publish your stories. You can either self-publish your short stories as a standalone volume or join an anthology with other writers in the community.
8. What are the publishing options available?
You can choose between self-publishing your stories individually or being part of a collaborative short story anthology. The choice will depend on how many publishable flash fiction stories you’ve created by the end of the writing program.
9. What are the costs involved in publishing?
If you choose to publish your stories, either individually or as part of the anthology, there will be a publishing fee based on the chosen format.
10. Will there be support for editing, formatting, and cover design?
Yes, we offer services for editing, formatting, and cover design to help prepare your flash fiction stories for publication, available for an additional fee.
11. Will I retain ownership of my flash fiction stories after publication?
Yes, you’ll retain full ownership of your stories. Being part of a short story anthology or publishing individually doesn’t affect your rights as the author.
12. Is publishing my stories mandatory?
Publishing is completely optional. The focus of this creative writing program is to enjoy the process of writing flash fiction. If you simply want to participate in the daily writing prompts and community, that’s absolutely okay!
13. Will there be support for self-publishing my stories?
Yes! If you choose to self-publish, we’ll guide you on available options, platforms, and how to publish flash fiction stories independently.
14. What if I can’t complete all 30 flash fiction stories?
No worries! Write as many stories as you can. This 30-day writing challenge is about enjoying the process of creating, and there’s no pressure to complete every day.
15. How do I register for the 30Days-30Stories challenge?
Register by filling out our Google Form here. Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive a welcome message with details on how to join our WhatsApp/LinkedIn group and start creating stories with us.
16. Can I join the program after it has started?
Yes, you can join within the first week. However, signing up before the challenge begins will allow you to enjoy the full experience and make the most of each day’s writing prompt.
17. What happens after the 30-day challenge ends?
At the end of the program, you’ll have a library of flash fiction pieces. We’ll also provide information on continuing your writing journey, whether through additional creative writing programs, one-on-one coaching, or support with self-publishing your work!
